The Making of Frida’s

Frida Kahlo was a bad ass artist, activist, and feminist. Frida used flowers and art as an avenue to communicate a message she knew the world needed. Her artistry is still a bridge between the broader global community & the Latina community. Her work continues to pave paths for artists at large and serves all those who find themselves needing to breathe the oxygen of a feminist, anti-racist beauty maker.

Enter Frida’s Flowers. Frida’s Flowers is a legacy work. We are apprentices of Frida’s spirit; doing the work of decolonized funk, fierce feminism, and ancestral connection. We’re painting a re-imagined reality of the world that centers brown & black women as primary makers of beauty in society. One that celebrates our deep ties to our ancestors and the healing that emerges when we connect with them. Frida’s Flowers is an invitation to dance at the intersection of culture, funk, and difference. To experience the fruit of artistic diversity. Yes, through flowers.

Frida’s is not for the faint of heart. When you work with Frida’s you can expect to invest in a bold, powerful floral experience that is sure to make a mark on your spirit. We don’t play small, we think and act big. Because that’s life; right? Beautiful and big.

Frida’s Founder

Madeline is the magician behind the movement. Her journey into ancestral connection and embracing her Xicana roots fully has emerged into a desire to invite everyone around her more fully into their own stories. Her breathtaking intentionality behind the making of Fridas shines through in naming each bouquet, connecting personally with her clients' lives and stories, and trailblazing a more modern, funky floral industry that evokes curiosity and paletted eccentricity. She is merging creative activism and bold artistry into one through Frida's Flowers. In doing so, she is connecting with her own Mexicana ancestors, championing reparational feminism, and calling forth the sacred through her artistry in flowers and community development.
